Vietnamese Art

Aibo Fine Asian Art is owned by Glenn Aber, who has travelled extensively throughout Vietnam collecting contemporary Vietnamese art. These contemporary paintings feature a confluence of Vietnam’s past French influences from the west, through the “Ecole de Beaux Arts” School along with the stylistic expressions of Impressionism, Realism, Abstract Expressionism, and Post-Impressionism juxtaposed with the influences from the east, particularly, China.

The contemporary Vietnamese art scene exemplifies the beauty and inspiration of Vietnamese traditional techniques of lacquer on wood, watercolor on rice paper, or handmade paper from the mulberry tree, as well as oil on canvas. The beauty of these contemporary paintings from Aibo Fine Asian Art evokes the spirituality, emotionality and cultural values inherent in the Vietnamese people and their heritage. The Vietnamese contemporary artist encompasses a rich and storied past evident in many works which depict lush vibrant landscapes or painstakingly drawn village folk scenes or bucolic symbols of the northern tribal people.

With Vietnam’s new current open atmosphere, the Vietnamese contemporary art scene is exploding with new vitality and innovative talent. Art collectors and savvy investors have taken note of this climate and begun buying in earnest. Vietnam's unique political background and rich cultural history have converged to create one of the most exciting and exhilarating periods for private contemporary art collectors and Vietnamese art aficionados. Vietnamese contemporary art has finally taken its rightful place in the art world and is being shown and exhibited throughout the world as collectors recognize the intrinsic value and appeal of the artistic talent which for so many years remained unseen.
